Is Lukla the one and only gateway to Everest Base camp? Well, not anymore now!!! Salleri to Everest base camp trek is now even more feasible.

After the expansion of road to Salleri  Everest Base camp trek, or otherwise known as EBC trek has now been easier access by road. In the past, to experience the lower Khumbu region, the trekkers used to follow Tenzing-Hillary Everest path that required a week long extra days. But, now via Salleri, it is possible to reach Namche bazaar in only 4 days- yes Lukla can be completely avoided- following the route: drive Kathmandu to Salleri by bus or private jeep. The next, continure drive to Surke by sharing or private jeep. Then, on the third day,  trek to Phakdigma and conitinue with regular Everest trail.

This is the best optional route to Everest base camp specially, when the Lukla flight is suspended for number of days owing to bad weather. Weather in Nepal is truly erractic. And we have bitter experience of trekkers being strangled in Lukla and Manthali airport for several days.

The proposed route also promises diversed village experience begining from lower elevation giving enough time for acclimatization before approaching to challengingly thin air atmosphere. The trail is gradual uphill passing by different settlement, forest, rivers, monastery and farmland.
