Later you can wander around the Barkhor street. it is an Ancient Tibetan market surrounding the Jokhang temple and it is a popular destination both tourist and pilgrims.
In the morning, you will visit the Jokhang, it is the holiest Buddhist temple in Himalaya’s. Built nearly 1400 years ago. The temple house the most sacred statue of Buddha. You will walk shoulder to shoulder with Buddhist pilgrims from every corner of Tibet. with Yak butter lamp in their hand and recites the mantra. In the afternoon, you will visit the 600 years old Sera Monastery, One of the largest monastery in Tibet. Each weekday afternoon starting at 3pm, monks engage in Buddhist philosophy debates, which are fun to photograph.
In the morning, you will visit the Potala palace, Tibet’s most iconic building. Raising over Lhasa, the palace served as the winter residence to Dalai lamas for 100s of years. the visit to Potala palace requires travelers to walk up to the top. In the afternoon after lunch, you will go to Drepung, another of Tibet’s huge monastic complexes. The pilgrimage circuit around Drepung takes about an hour or so and offers spectacular views.
