Upper Mustang Trekking
The Upper Mustang drive/ride/ trekking unveils the hidden world of Mustang – the legendry Buddhist Kingdom. This is an exotic venture to unspoiled Tibetan Villages on the other side of the Nepalese Himalaya bordering Tibet.
This trekking features rural landscapes, high mountain country, traversing glaciers, a non-technical ice-fall to negotiate, a high (5700 metres) pass (the Teshi Lapcha) to cross, and a wonderful sense of isolation, and optionally five days of playing at high altitude, including an ascent of Yalung Ri or Ramdun.
It’s a great trip for walkers who are confident with ice-axe and crampons, and for aspiring mountaineers. It has to be done as a camping trek: between Na and Thame cause there are no lodges.
